Job Description
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Hardware Design Team Lead cum Project Manager to lead electronics hardware development for automotive comfort actuator products. The role combines technical leadership, people management, and hardware project execution, with responsibility for delivering hardware designs meeting quality, cost, timing, and performance targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the electronics hardware design team.
- Own hardware development from concept, schematic design, PCB development, prototype build, validation, and design release.
- Review circuit designs, component selection, design calculations, and PCB layouts.
Guide development of analog, digital, power-supply, motor-driver, protection, sensing, and communication circuits. - Plan hardware resources, activities, milestones, and deliverables.
Track project timing, technical risks, quality, cost, and open issues. - Drive hardware design reviews, DFMEA, DRBFM, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate hardware validation including electrical, thermal, EMC/EMI, transient, and environmental testing.
- Support engineering changes, cost optimization, component obsolescence, and series-production issues.
- Coordinate with PCB layout, mechanical, validation, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, suppliers, and customer hardware teams.
- Represent the hardware team in customer and project reviews.
Ensure compliance with applicable automotive hardware development processes and standards.
Required Qualification
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline.
- 8–12 years of experience in automotive electronics hardware development.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in hardware team leadership or technical project leadership.
- Strong hands-on experience in automotive circuit design and hardware debugging.
Experience in motor-control, actuator electronics, body electronics, or similar automotive products. - Good knowledge of schematic design, PCB review, component selection, derating, thermal design, and hardware validation.
- Experience with automotive EMC/EMI and electrical transient requirements.
Knowledge of DFMEA, DRBFM, 8D, and structured problem-solving methods. - Good communication, stakeholder-management, and customer-interaction skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in automotive comfort actuator products.
- Experience with DC/BLDC motor-control electronics.
- Knowledge of ISO 16750, ISO 7637, CISPR 25, IATF 16949, and ISO 26262 hardware requirements.
- Project Management certification such as PMP is preferred, but not mandatory.
