PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction began in May 2021, and first series of production commenced in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.

Job Description
- Technical support and guidance of FCM mechanical works and projects. Define & update work instructions and SOP which relates to mechanical system (inclusive of all above mentioned systems). Technical training and sharing within FCM regarding mechanical systems to improve competency and knowledge of mechanical work within FCM. Conduct continuous improvement on FCM mechanical systems.
- To ensure all mechanical systems design; installation, trouble shooting and maintenance is following Bosch safety requirement, guideline and local regulatory requirements.
- FCM mechanical project management: Conduct project management with excellent quality of work, cost control and on time delivery. Responsible for updating project status during weekly meetings and responsible for submitting weekly reports to your supervisor.
- Responsible for safety checking of mechanical system maintenance, system safety.
- To make sure all mechanical projects have a proper RFQ and scope which is agreed by customer. Changes in RFQ are to be acknowledged by customers. Facility acceptance test needs to be conducted after each project and agreed by customer.
- Owner of Mechanical system reliability, capacity and up time control. Develop and define mechanical system KPI. Also responsible in updating monthly system uptime, PM completion, Capacity, CM status and cost spending of his systems.
- To be responsible for machine hook-ups 8. To co-own mechanical system local regulatory permits. To ensure these permits are always as per local government requirement and valid.
- Involvement in all Internal and External audits. Ensure all OPL’s related to this audit is closed on a timely manner.
- Working closely with Site Safety Officer (HSE) and DH in ensuring safe work practice is always practiced in Bosch.
- To coordinate all external contractors in their work, safeguard the compliance of health, safety and environmental obligations.
- Responsible for FCM Mechanical System management like above mentioned with maintenance, trouble shooting, technical support, upgrading. Expectation is to make sure your system has Zero downtime and is operated without any safety related incidences.
- Responsible for manufacturing tools hook-up activity, which relates to mechanical systems. All mechanical changes should be soft/hard documented, obtain approval from requestors and DH proper documented QAQC and handover.
- Define and develop mechanical system SOP, PM schedule (assist operations), work instruction, strategic supplier management, required workforce (assist operations), KPI and continues improvement plan for mechanical systems.
- Work hand in hand with consultants or other FCM coordinators in mechanical system improvement.
- Responsible to plan and manage Mechanical system spare parts to unsure all the critical system long lead items are in controls. Responsible for ordering and keeping sufficient critical Spare parts on site for all mechanical systems.
- Responsible to track and report out capacity (capacity tracking) of your systems.
- Responsible for identifying and driving energy conservation projects related to mechanical systems.
- Responsible for training FCM staff regarding mechanical systems and PM.
- Responsible for designing and conduct continues improvement plan for FCM gaseous mechanical system in the manufacturing area and lab area.
- Responsible for working closely with respective departments to resolve all FCM gaseous mechanical system related issues. Support and work towards achieving the departmental goal.
- Responsible for planning costs for operation and upcoming projects in mechanical systems for business planning and cost forecasting.
- To attend and complete to any other duties assigned by the immediate Superior from time to time.
- Responsible to support facilities urgent calls or call back when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in facility engineering, preferably supporting manufacturing or semiconductor facilities.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Liquid Nitrogen (LN₂), Compressed Air and Vacuum Systems, including operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Experience in facility improvement projects, preventive maintenance, system performance monitoring and contractor/vendor coordination.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
