Job Description
This position is fully accountable for designing new products, redesigning existing products, overseeing the prototype delivery and testing of products to verify the form, fit, function and quality of products for servicing refrigerant systems. The candidate will work closely with a cross functional team to deliver products on-time, on-spec, and on-budget. The candidate will assume full responsibility for all engineering documentation, specifications and required data for the assigned projects. To be successful, the candidate must be innovative, creative, comfortable working from a vision, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Conceptualize and Design new products/tools to meet customer specifications in a timely, thorough, concise manner utilizing the best of Engineering practices (GD&T, CAD, FMEA, testing, math analysis, etc.)
- Perform product maintenance of existing products such as cost reduction, warranty analysis, and design improvements over the complete product lifecyle.
- Team leadership - lead the project team to be creative, accurate, detailed, and professional.
- Perform design analysis and FMEA‘s on new tools to assure form, fit, function, and safety.
- Maintain all project documentation, i.e. schedule, design reviews, FMEAs, drawings, BOM’s, etc.
- Maintain product certifications such as UL and CE.
- Represent the Design Engineering Team with professionalism and integrity when communicating with the Customer, Cross Functional Teams and the entire organization.
- Takes full responsibility for providing the customer (internal and external) with service and products (documentation, prototypes, etc.) that exceed customer’s expectations.
- Support the Bosch Leadership Standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree
- 2+ years minimum related experience.
- Proven design skills, utilizing knowledge of similar product, conceptual layouts, locating components, (FEA analysis where required) and 3-D solid modeling. Solidworks training/experience (+)
- Proficiency in PC skills; CAD (Solidworks Drafting +) Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc) and ERP (Baan +).
- Proven experience with Bill of Materials, ECO’s, Model shop orders, GD&T, FMEA’s
- Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment. Experience working with global/international teams also highly desirable.
- Good oral and written communication skills with solid documentation skills
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects keeping accurate documentation and records
- Ability to work well with challenging individuals and customers
- Creative Problem Solving – proven problem solving ability via design or process
- Demonstrated ability to produce results and meet commitments
- Ability/Desire to work in a fast-paced environment; Works with a sense of urgency
- Not afraid to get their hands dirty - “hands on”

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $96,600 - $112,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.
