Job Description

As the Tech Lead for AI Feature Development, you will be a pivotal leader in our organization. Your primary mission is to guide a team of talented data scientists to deliver cutting-edge, production-grade AI features for our industrial applications. We are looking for a leader who excels at translating high-level vision into concrete action, driving projects from conception to completion.

Your role will be central to our success, combining deep technical expertise with outstanding leadership and strategic planning. You will be instrumental in mentoring your team, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-performing, integrated AI features.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead, Plan, and Deliver: You will own the technical execution for the AI team. This includes translating high-level user stories into clearly defined technical work packages, creating robust delivery plans in close cooperation with the SW Engineering Team and your own team, and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Mentor and Coach: You will provide strong technical guidance and mentorship, coaching team members to foster their growth and elevate the team's capabilities in machine learning and data science best practices.
  • Define Technical Strategy: You will define the technical strategy and architecture for our production-grade time-series ML systems, focusing on AI algorithm research, feature pipeline innovation, and the path from research to production.
  • Drive Engineering Excellence: You will establish and enforce high standards for ML development through design reviews, architecture proposals, and code reviews, championing the creation of reusable libraries and reference implementations.
  • Manage Stakeholders: You will work closely with product owners, the SW Engineering team, and business stakeholders to align the technical direction, manage expectations, and communicate progress and risks effectively.

Qualifications

  • Education: An advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics is highly preferred. A Bachelor's degree with extensive, relevant experience will be considered.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in a technical leadership capacity, with a strong track record of leading and mentoring AI/data science teams and successfully delivering complex projects.
  • Time-Series Expertise: Deep expertise in developing ML solutions for time-series, sensor, or industrial IoT data, including hands-on experience with at least two of the following: anomaly detection, classification, concept drift detection, or explainable AI.
  • ML Tooling: Strong, practical experience with classical ML and deep learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, XGBoost, LightGBM).
  • Production ML Experience: Demonstrated experience with the end-to-end MLOps lifecycle, including designing and delivering production ML workflows on cloud platforms (Azure ML/Databricks, AWS, or GCP).
  • Software Engineering Acumen: Strong programming skills in Python and a proven ability to build maintainable, testable, production-quality ML software, including experience with modern CI/CD and testing tools.
