Job Description
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for maintaining and improving customer satisfaction related to quality metrics, and tracking, analyzing, and improving BU metrics (FFT, rework, and scrap). Duties and tasks reflect substantial variety and complexity. Assignments are broad and usually require originality and ingenuity. May serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Serve as the primary customer and internal contact for all internal and external quality issues related to applicable product lines/customer (s).
- Maintain and improve customer relations related to quality targets.
- Lead customer and internal corrective action teams by utilizing various quality tools and processes to identify the root cause of a problem and implement effective corrective actions.
- Responsible for the preparation and submission of the following: PPAP documentation, product sorting instructions, response to customer concerns, deviations, control plans, Layered Process Audits, Quality Alerts, etc.
- Participate in the development of the following: Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, etc.
- Implementation, review, and analysis of SPC / process capability data, product audits, and product contamination audits.
- Review warranty returns and trends with the aftermarket group.
- Support APQP process and ability to work in the APQP team for new program launches and major product design changes.
- Internal auditing to IATF 16949 standard. Coordinate and facilitate customer audits. Preparation of operational procedures and instructions per IATF 16949.
- Support continuous improvement activities for safety, quality, and productivity.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year College or University with three to five years of related experience in the areas of engineering or technical operations.

- Works under general supervision. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals. May orient, train, assign and check the work of lower-level employees. May be designated as "lead" worker.
Computer Skills:
- Must have Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software. Must be capable of learning other software packages (Ex: SAP, Axalant, and Test Software).

- Leadership skills – ability to lead an interdisciplinary team.
- Individuals must possess the interpersonal skills to communicate with coworkers.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Must have the ability to work in an office and manufacturing assembly environment, which could include sitting or standing for the majority of the day. The position requires the ability to stand/walk for up to 2 hours at a time, bend, twist, grasp, and lift to 45 pounds on occasion.
