Job Description

  • Monitor and analyze Thai customs laws and regulatory changes (including tariff classification rules) and ensure their practical implementation within Bosch entities in Thailand to maintain compliance.
  • Act as the local customs governance expert in Thailand, supporting the implementation of Bosch customs governance framework and ensuring alignment with local regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the primary interface with Thai Customs authorities, including:
    • handling classification disputes
    • supporting customs audits and post-clearance reviews
    • coordinating customs rulings and approvals
  • Lead and support the resolution of HS code classification discrepancies, including:
    • alignment between COE classification and Thai customs expectations
    • preparation of technical justifications and supporting documentation
    • coordination with engineering, operations, and COE teams
  • Drive consistency and governance of HS classification across all Bosch legal entities in Thailand (e.g. RBTA/Y, RBTH, BSH, BHC).
  • Support and coordinate customs ruling applications (e.g. tariff classification rulings), including preparation of documentation and engagement with authorities.
  • Identify and mitigate customs compliance risks, including:
    • reducing exposure to penalties, delays, and audit findings
    • supporting remediation and historical HS code clean-up activities
  • Support the end-to-end governance of customs valuation adjustments, including one-time payments (OTP), by advising on regulatory requirements, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring appropriate handling with Thai Customs
  • Provide hands-on advisory support to local operations (GS/OSD, logistics, business units) on customs-related topics, ensuring smooth customs clearance and compliance.
  • Support cross-functional projects and business initiatives (e.g. new product introduction, process changes, PMI activities) from a customs perspective within Thailand.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination between local stakeholders and regional/global functions (e.g. COE, C/TXR, business units).

Qualifications

  • Education:
    Degree in law, business administration, supply chain, engineering or a related field (specialization in customs or international trade is an advantage).
  • Experience and expertise:
    Several years of experience in customs compliance, customs operations, consulting, or within a multinational company, with strong knowledge of Thai customs regulations and practices.
    Experience in tariff classification, customs audits, and authority engagement is highly desirable.
    Experience working in a matrix organization and cross-functional environment is an advantage.
  • Personality and way of working:
    Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work across functions and cultures.
    Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented approach.
    Ability to work independently and handle complex issues in a hands-on manner.
  • Languages:
    Fluent in Thai and English (spoken and written) is required, especially for interaction with local authorities and stakeholders.
