Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive 2nd Shift Warehouse Production Planner to join our team. The Production Planner plays a critical role in orchestrating the seamless flow of customer orders through our warehouse, ensuring efficient operations and on-time delivery. This individual will be a key liaison, collaborating with various cross-functional departments to ensure materials are received, picked, packed, and staged precisely according to customer schedules and established operating standards. The 2nd Shift Production Planner will utilize a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to optimize workflow and contribute to achieving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Workflow Coordination via WMS:
- Coordinate and manage the workflow using the Blue Yonder (WMS) warehouse management system.
- Strategically release pick lists based on the customer shipment schedule, optimizing for efficiency and order fulfillment.
Production Planning & Efficiency:
- Evaluate current forecasts and operational data to determine the most effective flow of work.
- Develop and implement plans to achieve maximum efficiency within all warehouse departments, considering planned headcount and resource availability.
Inter-Departmental Communication:
- Communicate proactively and effectively with other warehouse departments (e.g., Inbound, Picking, Packing, Outbound) to coordinate material requirements.
- Ensure all necessary materials are available and properly staged for the successful completion of pick lists and customer orders.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed reports of all performance or procedural deviations.
- Provide daily reviews of these reports with Supervisors, highlighting areas for improvement and potential bottlenecks.
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement:
- Utilize problem-solving tools and methodologies to address process or target deviations promptly.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the planning and workflow processes.
Cross-Departmental Support & Other Duties:
- Perform other duties as instructed, which may include tasks across various departments beyond just Inbound/Outbound operations.
- Support overall warehouse objectives as needed.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma/GED, REQUIRED
- Technical/Vocational education or Associate degree, PREFERRED
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in a production planning, dispatch, or similar role within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Blue Yonder WMS Experience: Intermediate experience working with Blue Yonder or a similar Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Microsoft 365 Proficiency: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Effective Communication & Teamwork: Intermediate effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proactivity & Results Focus: Basic understanding and ability to demonstrate proactivity with a focus on achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Organization & 6S Adherence: Intermediate ability to maintain a highly organized approach to work and adhere to 6S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety).
- Basic Math, Reading, Writing: Basic understanding of math concepts, ability to read and comprehend instructions, and legible writing skills.
- Measuring Equipment: Basic ability to use and read measuring equipment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods, use a computer, and communicate effectively.
- Frequent walking and standing within the warehouse environment may be required.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions common to a warehouse setting (e.g., varying temperatures, noise levels).

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $22.78 - $27.12 per hour. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.
