Quality Assurance Engineer – Warranties Lab

Job Description

General description:

  •  Assure coverage of warranty Lab tools and equipment for current and future needs (acquisition and installation).
  •  Handling and storage of warranty returns
  •  Analyze products (electrical) with comprehensive and correct analysis results (quality and timing)
  •  Record analysis results in SAP/DACHs system database.
  •  Provide technical support to warranty analysis lab technicians
  •  Contributes to improve warranty analysis lab process and logistics
  •  Participates in customer complaints meeting to provide technical failure explanations
  •  Systematic failure overview using warranty analysis database to create analysis troubleshoot guide
  •  Perform standardization of failures codes on warranty analysis database
  •  Participate and support quality and environmental plant goals
  •  Participate in audits (internal and external) as required
  •  Participate in digitalization projects (plant and QMM projects)
  •  Main contact with Lead Plants for current and new analysis process/equipment

Primary duties and responsibilities:

Product Analysis (80%)

  • Customer claims analysis (electrical) according to test flow approved by Lead Plant.
  • Test equipment SW/HW setup/installation
  • Communication with Development team for special analysis/Defect Not Found cases/new equipment
  • Continuous technical learning on current and new products
  • Detect trends on repetitive failures and report it to customer interfaces
  • Determine responsibility of defect cause of the customer returns (external/internal)
  • Usage of Hardware and Software diagnostics tools (CANAlizer, CANoe tools, etc)
  • Usage of electrical schematics and Gerber files for PC boards
  • Compliance of internal KPIs regarding analysis time and quality according with Bosch directives
  • Test Equipment procurement
  • Planning/scheduling of tests equipment calibration and maintenance
  • Create analysis report for each customer claim and upload it to SAP/DACHs system.
  • Inform Manufacturing team about internal defects
  • Handling/storage of customer claims according to customer/Bosch specifications
  • Disposal of material according to internal procedures.

Customer Claims

  • S&C’s : Analyze trends & events in order to kick-off activities with responsible departments to initiate ctivities to   reduce S&C’s.

Digitalization

  • Participate in plant and QMM digitalization projects
  • Use of IA digital tools to detect failure known modes
  • Support JuP1 digitalization projects (i.e. SW implementation, bot/RPA creation,etc)

.Duties in QMM (20%):

  • Leadership/ CptM
  • Serves as a coach for new engineers & technicians
  • Supervise technicians

Functional excellence

  • Participate in CIP process with Customer Interface Eng. for warranty claims follow up.
  • Expert use of analysis tools/SW
  • Active participation and support to reach safety,quality,and environmental plant goals.
  • Active participation in internal and external audits as required
  • Knowledge and compliance to customer and Bosch requirements

 

Qualifications

Working Experience:

>5years of professional experience in failure diagnostic, product/test engineering, preferably in automotive industry incl. customer contact

Bachelor Degree: Electronics, Mechatronics, or related.

Key Skills:

  • Substantial product knowledge, analysis tools (eg Oscilloscope, multi-meter,…)
  • Customer Requirements
  • Communication skills, high initiative, independent style of working, structured & analytical approach, accountability/ reliability

Language (written and oral)

• English: Advanced.
• German: Preferred.
