Job Description

As a technical project lead in our cross-functional Application and Device Engineering team you will support the customer acquisition phase and establish sustainable and lasting customer communication on technical aspects regarding our silicon carbide (SiC) products. In this role you will be the link between our newly established SiC front-end-fabrication site in Roseville, CA and our external customer together with our experienced sales team for North America, covering communication on technical aspects of the SiC device fabrication and the technology roadmap.
Based on your research on the competitive worldwide SiC market and understanding of our customer requirements you will proactively consult our strategic customers (OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers) regarding the use and integration of our SiC products into their applications (e.g. traction inverters, charging systems, solar inverters, industrial drives). Using your market know-how and experience regarding customer requirements you will provide input to our Bosch-internal product and technology roadmap, coordinate internal project resources and present your technical findings within presentations and training.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Project Management: Lead and coordinate complex customer projects from the acquisition phase through specification to mass production, with a strong focus on our SiC power transistors (chips and discretes)
  • Customer Interface: Be the technical point of contact for our strategic customers (OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers) regarding the use and integration of our SiC products into their applications (e.g. traction inverters, charging systems, solar inverters, industrial drives)
  • Requirements Analysis: Detailed collection, analysis, and translation of customer requirements into technical specifications and product strategies
  • Technical Consulting & Support: Proactive technical advice to customers on the selection, design-in, and optimization of their circuits and systems using our SiC components. This also includes support for troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges
  • Roadmap Input: Provide input for the product roadmap based on customer requirements and needs, market trends, and competitive analysis within the SiC segment
  • Internal Project Coordination: Coordinate internal resources (R&D, Applications, Quality, Production, Sales) to ensure timely and successful completion of customer projects
  • Presentations & Training: Create and deliver technical presentations, workshops, and training sessions at customers, conferences and internal meetings on SiC products and their applications.
  • Competitive Analysis: Monitor competition and the market landscape in the SiC sector to strengthen our positioning

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in technical project management or as an application engineer in power electronics, ideally with a clear focus on power semiconductors
  • Sound knowledge of Silicon Carbide (SiC) power transistors (MOSFETs, diodes) and their applications (e.g. in e-mobility, renewable energies)
  • Deep understanding of the specific characteristics of SiC components (e.g. switching behavior, thermal management, gate driving, parasitics) and their integration into power electronic circuits
  • Evident experience in customer interaction in a technical consulting or project manager role
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to convey complex technical issues
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a structured, results-oriented way of working
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings and conferences (up to 30%)
