Job Description
As an Acquisition Manager, you will play a key role in expanding Bosch Engineering’s presence with innovative mobility companies and emerging technology leaders. You will identify and develop new business opportunities for Bosch Engineering’s engineering services portfolio while helping customers bring advanced vehicle technologies to market.
Working closely with Bosch engineering experts and cross-divisional teams, you will help shape new customer engagements and guide opportunities from initial discussions through proposal development and successful business acquisition.
This role offers the opportunity to work directly with innovative startups, niche OEMs, and technology-driven mobility companies developing next-generation vehicle platforms and solutions.
Key Responsibilities include:
Business Development & Customer Acquisition
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities for Bosch Engineering’s engineering services portfolio
- Build relationships with innovative mobility companies, startups, and established automotive customers
- Develop and execute acquisition strategies to secure new engineering projects and long-term partnerships
Customer Engagement
- Engage with engineering, purchasing, and executive stakeholders at customer organizations
- Understand customer technical challenges and translate them into engineering service opportunities
- Present Bosch Engineering capabilities and solutions to prospective customers and partners
- This position involves approximately 20% domestic and international travel to support customer meetings, industry events, and project team activities
Opportunity Development
- Collaborate with Bosch technical experts to shape technical solutions and customer proposals
- Support preparation of quotations, proposals, and commercial negotiations
- Drive opportunities from early discussions through successful project acquisition and launch
Market & Technology Awareness
- Monitor trends in automotive and mobility technologies, particularly in emerging and startup ecosystems
- Identify opportunities related to electrification, automated driving, safety systems, and software-defined vehicles
- Leverage Bosch’s global engineering network to bring the right technical expertise and solutions to customers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s (required) or Master’s degree (preferred) in Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Strong interest in technical sales, engineering services, or mobility technologies
- Basic understanding of automotive systems such as:
- Powertrain / electrification
- Chassis and motion systems
- ADAS and automated driving
- Active and passive safety systems
- Embedded software and vehicle electronics
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work across technical and commercial teams
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings and industry events
Preferred:
- M.S. in Business Administration, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software or Controls Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in technical sales, business development, or engineering services, preferably in the automotive or mobility industry.
- Familiarity with automotive development processes and vehicle systems, with exposure to areas such as electrification, chassis systems, or ADAS.
- Experience in customer-facing roles, including negotiation and relationship building with OEMs, suppliers, or mobility technology companies.
- Entrepreneurial and self-motivated team player with strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills and the ability to translate customer needs into technical solutions.
