Role Overview

As a Data Governance Expert, with data catalog focus, you will be responsible for:

·       Driving the technical implementation of the data governance framework based on the data management and governance policy with special focus on metadata management field and data cataloging.

·       Data Catalog technical Migration

·       Identifying data governance and metadata management use cases and solving them with a data catalog solution.

·       Defining a metadata management concept and implementing the concept in the data catalog solution.

·       Defining and maintaining meta-model in the data catalog

·       Identifying the main data resources and connecting them with the data catalog.

·       Maintaining the metadata and improving the metadata management in the data catalog.

·       Creating and maintaining business glossary in the data catalog/business glossary solution.

·       Training and enabling the data stewards in the metadata management, governance, and data catalog fields.

·       Defining and establishing a standard for metadata management and catalog for Powertrain Solution (PS) organization and include different aspects like enterprise requirement, technology drivers, economics, business policies and data processing need.

·       Managing and improving the data catalogue solution.

·       Consulting the data stewards, business units, plants, and teams in data governance, metadata management and data catalog topics and in building/improving the data management for their use cases.

·       Education: University degree (master’s degree/diploma/PhD) with focus on data scientist, data management, information technology or comparable education.

·       Personality: Team-minded, open to learn, independent, good communication and coordination skills

·       Working Practice: Agile mindset, high level of self-motivation

·       Experience and knowledge: 5+ years of experience and expertise in the data governance and metadata management field in an automotive context or in comparable industries

·       IT-Skills: Experience with data catalogue, data management tool, query languages (SQL), python, java (optional), ETL and data integration solution, API development solutions, SAP (optional), Databricks, Data warehouse, MS-SQL Databases, SaaS solutions, AWS, Azure.

·       Languages: Very good English skills- both written and spoken, Good German language skills (optional)
