Job Description
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, develop, and implement advanced vision systems across the manufacturing value stream to ensure consistent product quality and defect detection
- Develop and deploy AI-based vision systems with smart automation capabilities on assembly lines to enhance production efficiency and accuracy
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for vision system requirements based on product specifications, dimensional tolerances, and defect identification criteria
- Develop and optimise hardware and software solutions tailored to specific product requirements, including dimensional analysis, attribute verification, and defect classification
- Integrate vision systems with existing manufacturing equipment and control systems, including PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) interfaces and industrial automation platforms
- Perform system testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure vision systems meet performance standards and production requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, engineering, and maintenance to ensure seamless implementation and ongoing system optimisation
- Provide technical support and training to plant personnel on vision system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures
- Document system specifications, configurations, and standard operating procedures for knowledge transfer and compliance purposes
- Monitor system performance metrics and recommend continuous improvements to enhance detection accuracy and reduce false positives
Qualifications
**Required Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree (B.E / B.Tech) in Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline
- Proficient in image processing and object identification systems, preferably within the automotive manufacturing industry
- Competent knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and industrial automation platforms
- Demonstrated expertise in developing hardware and software solutions based on product specifications, dimensional analysis, and defect classification requirements
- Strong experience with AI and machine learning frameworks for vision-based automation and smart manufacturing applications
- Competent collaboration and communication skills across multiple functions including production, quality assurance, engineering, and maintenance teams
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Postgraduate qualification or specialisation in Data Science, Data Engineering
Additional Information
4 to 6 years in vision systems in manufacturing industry is desirable.
