This is being treated as an internal project scheduled to spin off into a separate company when certain conditions are met. The project team work agile in a start-up. Role OverviewAs an Embedded Systems Expert, you will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of firmware and embedded operating system distributions for advanced embedded platforms. The role requires strong expertise in microcontroller architectures such as ARM, Infineon TriCore, STM families and more, along with hands-on experience in creating embedded Linux, QNX, AOS or RTOS distributions using Yocto or similar build systems.You will work closely with cross-functional teams including system architecture, AI Expert and application software teams to develop reliable, scalable, and maintainable embedded solutions. The position requires deep knowledge of low-level software development, build systems, board bring-up, and system integration to support product development in demanding embedded environments. You will be the expert for building AI and AgenticAI solutions on the Edge Devices reporting to Chief Expert of MASTRO, advising him/her on the strategies to position MASTRO effectively in the MarketSelf-driven and proactive with a strong sense of ownership for technical deliverables. Structured and analytical approach to problem solving, especially in complex embedded systems environments. Strong commitment to quality, reliability, and maintainability in embedded software development. Comfortable working in fast-paced product development environments, managing multiple priorities and technical challenges. Excellent communication skills with the ability to document technical solutions and share knowledge within the team. Continuous learner with an interest in emerging technologies in embedded systems, firmware development, and system architecture. Key Responsibilities Design and implement embedded firmware and low-level software for platforms based on ARM, Infineon TriCore, STM microcontroller architectures and more. Develop, customize, and maintain embedded Linux or RTOS distributions using Yocto Project or equivalent frameworks (e.g., Buildroot, OpenEmbedded) for Edge AI Deployments. Perform board bring-up and hardware validation for new embedded platforms in the context of bringing AI on Edge Develop and maintain Board Support Packages (BSPs), bootloader configurations, and device drivers. Integrate middleware components, kernel modules, and system services into embedded OS images along with frameworks for executing AI and similar workloads. Configure and maintain cross-compilation environments, build pipelines, and release processes for firmware and OS artifacts. Collaborate with system architects, AI Architects to diagnose and resolve low-level hardware and firmware integration issues. Ensure code quality, reliability, and performance through code reviews, testing, and debugging. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related engineering discipline.
