HW Developer for Electronic Control Units

Role Summary

Responsible for the end-to-end design and development of electronics hardware, including DC/DC converters, covering analog/digital circuitry, simulations, PCB design support, testing, and compliance with automotive standards. Flexibility to work on variety of topics arising from acquisition to series maintenance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • HW development activities of embedded control units used for various components like Sensors and actuators for ICE exhaust systems
  • Interact with internal, external stakeholders, understand the HW requirements and propose design solutions with relevant calculations, simulations including worst case analysis.
  • Work on electronic component selections, schematic development
  • Interact with PCB layout development, sample shop, plants for building the HW and support to SW teams
  • Test plan definition, Board level lab measurements, analysis, coordination with validation labs and test report creations
  • Structured problem solving, HW debugging and failure analysis.
  • Working with Process, Methods, and Tools according to the company requirements

 

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of analog, digital, and power electronics, including DC/DC converters and sensor/actuator interfaces.

Experience in embedded hardware design for automotive ECUs, including MCU interfacing and HW–SW integration.

Ability to analyze requirements and propose hardware solutions using calculations, simulations, and worst‑case analysis.

Proficiency in electronic component selection and schematic development for automotive‑grade products.

 

Working knowledge of PCB layout principles and effective collaboration with layout engineers on EMC and manufacturability.

Hands‑on experience in hardware testing and validation, including test plan definition, board‑level measurements, and test reporting.

Exposure to automotive specifications and standards relevant to ECU development and validation.

Strong skills in structured problem solving, HW debugging, and failure/root‑cause analysis.

Understanding product development and production processes, including interaction with sample shops and manufacturing plants.

Effective stakeholder management and communication skills, handling OEM queries and coordinating with internal teams (SW, Sales, Validation).
