Job Description
Your Role
As an Operations Engineer, you translate complex technical requirements into smart, manufacturable designs that balance quality, cost, and lead time — from concept to production. You are responsible for creating complete and production‑ready designs while continuously improving manufacturability and efficiency.
You work closely with Engineering, Production, Sales, and external partners, playing a key role in delivering reliable, high‑quality solutions to our customers worldwide.
What You’ll Do
Prepare & Analyze
- Review specifications, standards, and planning data for completeness and accuracy
- Identify missing or unclear information and coordinate solutions with stakeholders
- Assess planned engineering work and timelines, and flag deviations proactively
Design & Engineer
- Create and modify designs, calculations, drawings, manuals, and order documentation
- Develop and maintain clear, optimized production documentation
- Engineer cost‑effectively and actively propose design and process improvements
- Participate in design and peer reviews (four‑eyes principle)
- Release materials and components in SAP
- Align technical details with customers, certification bodies, and internal teams
- Evaluate change requests and assess technical and commercial impact
- Manage and improve CAD libraries and engineering tools
Support & Collaborate
- Support Sales with concept engineering, initial sketches, and technical input
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering and production processes
Qualifications
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (HBO Mechanical Engineering)
- Experience in machine construction, hydraulics, or a similar industrial environment is a strong plus
Technical Skills
- Solid mechanical engineering background
- Experience (depending on product group) with:
- Hydraulic systems and installation technology
- Piping and sheet‑metal constructions
- Knowledge of materials such as aluminum, steel, and cast iron
- Understanding of pressure systems, certifications, ATEX, and environmental requirements
- Familiarity with production and assembly techniques
Process & Tools
- Experience with Engineering‑to‑Order environments
- Knowledge of Lean Assembly and Design for Manufacturing / Assembly
- Structured problem‑solving mindset
- Experience with CREO PDM, SAP, and Microsoft Office
