Job Description
The Spare Parts Coordinator will provide support to engineers and maintenance to set up parts for all new equipment. They will ensure coordination with engineers to obtain BOMs, drawings, and other documentation of the lines in order to set up spare parts for new and existing equipment. Duties and tasks are frequently non-routine. The role resolves most problems and escalates only the most complex issues to higher levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures that all aspects of MRO are to be driven by lean manufacturing principals of predictability, organization, and efficiency improvement (through the elimination of waste).
- Prepares periodic inventory documents and maintain perpetual inventory records pertaining to all tools and equipment moving through the tool crib location.
- Works with engineering to set up new equipment spares at a proper inventory level
- Ensure organization of and restocking of shop related consumables if needed.
- Ensure proper processes and procedures are implemented and followed according to customer standards.
- Ensure that appropriate personnel are immediately informed of any obstacles and work with those personnel towards problem resolution.
- Communicate / cooperate with all appropriate personnel to ensure EBOM requirements are met and current.
- Communication with Engineers and maintenance
- Supports all MRO activities (receipt of material properly working with receiving clerks, supplier returns, system issues, and inventory)
- Ensure timely and accurate receipts, work with accounts payable to resolve any supplier open payment issues
- Works with suppliers to get quotes and updates info records for ordering of existing and new spare parts
- Updates part numbers and price when needed
- Analyzes current parts vs parts needed
- Ensures MRO does not have duplicate parts and if found resolves issue
- Supports maintenance supervisors, MRO clerks, and production to achieve plant objectives
- Maintain kanban system for production related consumables
- Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory and reporting inventory discrepancies.
- Provide support to all production lines with respect to MRO
- Verify that inventory cycle counting is functioning properly on a regular basis.
- Returning nonconforming material to supplier as well as organizing external spare part repairs.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in line with a 5S standard.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
A two-year degree in a technical field or three to five years of related experience.

- Must have Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel - preferred.
- Must be capable of learning other software packages (Ex: SAP, Axalant, and Test Software).
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Individual must possess the interpersonal skills communicate with coworkers.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Must have the ability to work in a manufacturing assembly environment. The positions requires the ability to stand/walk for up to 4 hours at a time, repetitively bend, twist, grasp and lift up to 45 pounds.
