Job Description
Are you a highly analytical and curious individual with a passion for understanding market dynamics and industrial technology? Bosch Rexroth is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Service Department. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in market research and data analysis specifically focused on the US repair market for servo motors and drives.
You will play a crucial role in helping us understand market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs, ultimately contributing to the strategic growth and efficiency of our service offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Sizing & Segmentation:
- Research and analyze the overall size and growth trends of the US servo motor and drive repair market.
- Identify and segment the market by industry, customer type (e.g., OEM, End-User), and product type.
- Competitive Analysis:
- Identify and profile key competitors in the US servo motor and drive repair market (e.g., independent repair shops, other OEMs, third-party service providers) along with gaining an understanding of our position in the in the US market from a pricing standpoint.
- Analyze their service offerings, pricing strategies, strengths, weaknesses, and market share (where data is available).
- Customer Needs & Pain Points Analysis:
- Conduct secondary research (industry reports, online forums, competitor reviews) to understand common customer challenges and expectations related to servo motor and drive repair.
- Potentially assist with qualitative research (e.g., developing survey questions, analyzing interview transcripts) if applicable.
- Data Collection & Analysis:
- Gather data from various internal sources (e.g., CRM, service records, sales data) to identify trends in repair types, failure modes, and service demand.
- Utilize external data sources (e.g., industry reports, trade publications, economic data) to enrich analysis.
- Clean, organize, and analyze large datasets using tools like Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or similar.
- Reporting & Presentation:
- Prepare clear, concise, and impactful reports and presentations summarizing research findings and insights.
- Present key findings to the Service Department leadership team and other relevant stakeholders.
- Strategic Recommendations:
- Based on research and analysis, contribute to identifying potential opportunities for Bosch Rexroth to expand or refine its servo motor and drive repair services.
- Suggest areas for process improvement or new service offerings.
- Ad-Hoc Projects:
- Assist with other ad-hoc market research or data analysis projects as needed within the Service Department.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas) is essential.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with market research methodologies and data collection techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Interest in industrial automation, motion control, or manufacturing industries is a plus.
- Basic understanding of servo motors and drives, or a willingness to learn quickly, is advantageous.
