We are looking for a commercially sharp Project Buyer to be a driving force in our procurement team.
This is a pivotal role centred on commercial and operational excellence. You will be empowered to drive down costs, secure advantageous terms and build a robust, high-performing supplier network. What You'll Achieve
Commercial - Strategic Supplier Management & Development:
- Lead price negotiations and renegotiate offers to generate significant cost savings.
- Negotiate comprehensive agreements covering everything from payment terms and Incoterms to volume rebates and quality assurance.
- Identify, assess and onboard new suppliers.
- Conduct annual supplier assessments for performance, quality and delivery, driving continuous improvement.
- Perform supplier audits and visits to proactively resolve issues and strengthen partnerships.
- Analyse price variations and monitor supplier dependency to minimise risk and ensure supply chain stability.
Operational Excellence:
- Manage the end-to-end quotation process, from requesting quotes and analysing proposals to making sourcing recommendations.
- Maintain pricing accuracy in SAP, manage part costings and resolve invoice queries.
- Ensure all purchasing decisions and supplier agreements are documented and compliant with company guidelines.
- Organise meetings, prepare precise minutes and drive the follow-up of action items.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as a key purchasing contact in project meetings with Sales and Engineering to identify cost and time-saving opportunities.
- Support the delivery escalation process to ensure timely resolution of any issues.
- Champion Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP) and 5S methodologies within the purchasing department.
- Maintain excellent communication channels with all internal departments to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications
Qualified & Experienced:
- MCIPS qualification or equivalent business experience is highly desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with SAP R3 PR1 or a similar integrated system.
- Experience working with Engineering drawings is desirable.
