Job Description

Are you a passionate leader with a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) excellence? We are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to drive a proactive, high-performance safety culture across our organization. In this pivotal role, you will provide strategic leadership and governance to ensure full compliance with all HSE legislation and corporate policies while embedding continuous improvement within our HSE management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Safety Culture: Foster a proactive safety culture across the organization, ensuring safety is a core value.
  • Strategic Development: Develop and implement HSE strategies, policies, and frameworks aligned with company objectives and industry best practices.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the HSE team, ensuring accountability for safety performance and compliance.
  • Management System Oversight: Oversee and continuously improve the HSE management system to maintain ISO 45001 certification and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with executive leadership and key stakeholders to integrate HSE considerations into business operations and strategic planning.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish and manage key HSE KPIs, reporting on trends, insights, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies across high-risk areas of the organization.
  • Training Coordination: Coordinate and administer HSE training programs, ensuring all employees are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills.
  • Compliance Reporting: Oversee compliance reporting activities, ensuring timely and accurate submission of HSE reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive documentation of HSE policies, procedures, training records, and compliance reports to support audits and inspections.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in HSE management, preferably in a leadership role within Australia and New Zealand.
  • Experience in HSE management within manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive cultural change within an organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO 45001) are highly desirable.
