Job Description
Position Summary
Provides direct supervision to the HMC department, including scheduling, prioritizing workflow, training, and developing team members to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Supervise all HMC employees
- Document employee performance; provide feedback, coaching, and discipline as needed
- Review and analyze data from ERP reports
- Responsible for safety, quality, delivery, efficiency, and workload management within the department
- Schedule and prioritize workflow to meet production goals
- Maintain tooling stock and order replacements as needed
- Research and recommend new machining technologies and equipment upgrades
- Perform random quality checks on work in process
- Setup and operate machines as needed
- Assist the Quality Department as necessary
- Coach, mentor, and develop employees for skill growth and advancement
- Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
- HMC Operators I, II, III; Team Leads
Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Stand for extended periods
Work Environment
- Majority of work is performed in a manufacturing environment where temperatures may vary and noise levels can range from moderate to high
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required per company safety policies: safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, and safety shoes
Qualifications
- School diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education preferred
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop employees
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- 5+ years of experience in machining, tool making, or grinding, including manual machining experience
- Strong understanding of machining fundamentals, tooling, and process improvement
- Proficient in the use of measurement equipment and inspection tools
- Ability to meet and maintain quality and productivity standards
- Computer proficiency, including strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
- High attention to detail
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Additional Information
The US hourly rate is $32.00- $37.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc. The Recruiter can share more details about the specific salary range during the interview process.
