Job Description
Your responsibilities:
- Enable customs and foreign trade operations in Kenya, ensure smooth customs clearance and avoid supply chain interruptions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation as well as application and full alignment with the Bosch Central Directive "Customs CD3400”
- Develop and maintain cost efficient foreign trade processes (e.g. implementation of special customs procedures and authorization; secure the fulfilment of associated obligations)
- Coordinate requests from Customs Authorities, attend and assist in customs audits (internal & external).
- Attend and assist in regional customs audits.
- Implement and maintain AEO program requirements at Robert BOSCH East Africa
- Local broker selection, tender evaluation.
- Support central purchasing in Africa (regional) Air freight & Sea freight tender preparation, evaluation, and selection.
- Coordinate import and export operations for the BOSCH business units.
- Regional broker management and ensure KPI evaluation and reporting.
- Customs valuations as per relevant customs law & regulations
- Liaise with BOSCH Tax & Governance teams to ensure regional foreign trade compliance.
- Archiving of all Foreign Trade documentation.
Qualifications
Education:
- Minimum a university degree in supply chain management or similar
- Master’s degree in business or related is added advantage
- Relevant tax and customs trainings.
Experience and knowledge:
- Min 3 years professional experience in foreign trade across Africa regions.
- Profound knowledge of logistics and foreign trade
- Experience in dealing with customs authorities.
- Experience in customs audits, HS Code justifications and transfer pricing rules.
- Working Knowledge and Business knowledge/operations of the BOSCH group.
