Position Objectives:

Section Quality Manager is responsible for SMT In Process Quality Control and Yield Improvement, Quality Audit and PCBA quality to meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations.

Aside to SMT quality system, maintaining the department product/process documentation, this person also provide support on EWB, IPQC, ECN & NPI team activities.

 

Job Description

  • Responsible for SMT product quality issues. 
  • Window to internal/external customer on quality/rejected matter.
  • As the key driver in problem solving on quality issues encountered in SMT operations, or 0KM defects (SMT related). Coordinate all activities related to quality process are closed on time.
  • To manage the rightful resources, develop associates to be competent in their area of responsibility and drive for process improvement activities.
  • To set the realistic quality goal, ensure all key performance indicators are meeting departmental goal and drive for continuous improvement together with the team.
  • To evaluate associate performance with goal setting in line with department goal.
  • To plan for training need analysis (TNA) for the associates.
  • Lead quality audit and countermeasures.
  • Provide support to EWB, IPQC, ECN & NPI teams.
  • To ensure all manufacturing documents are being prepared and update accordingly before line release for manufacturing.  (e.g.: Process Control Plan, PFMEA, Instruction card, Work Instruction, etc.)
  • Ensure proper maintenance on the quality records.
  • Responsible on yield reporting and monitoring, and improvement.
  • Any other duties assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.

Qualifications

  • This position will need to have at least 5-10 years experience in Quality and SMT process.
  • The person needs to be good in analytical skill as he will need to drive the internal MOE1 team member for resolving quality issue, handling internal/external customer complaint, handling all the audit, dealing with PQA on supplier issue, driving for yield improvement and reducing internal defect cost (IDC). 
  • The person also needs to have strong leadership skill as their engineers and technicians will be reporting to him. 
  • Good communication skill is mandatory as he will be having frequent meetings with Managing Director (currently once a month to present monthly IDC KPI), meeting with global ME team, CoC team. 
  • The person also needs to be able to work together will all managers especially with MOE1 managers to strategies the path for the department towards improvement in all angles.
