Company Description

Do you want beneficial technologies being shaped by your ideas? Whether in the area of mobility solutions, consumer goods, industrial technology of energy and building technology – with us, you will have the chance to improve quality of life all across the globe. Welcome to Bosch.

This site is the integral manufacturing plant and R&D Center. It is the first smart factory in Thailand. It will enable us to respond to growing automobile production in Thailand and to serve international as well as local automotive customers on the spot. The supplier of technology and services is focusing heavily on connected manufacturing at the factory.

Manufacturing Plant: The plant is producing two major product categories: connectors and fuel injection units. Connectors are a booming segment with growth potential in the ICE- and EV-market. The factory is also the first plant for the manufacturing of gasoline injection systems in Thailand. It is capable of producing millions of fuel injector units every year and can meet the increasing demand of our customers in the region.

R&D Center: The R&D office and laboratory are located on same site as production. In order to have dedicated laboratory accommodating automotive specific machine and equipment such as fuel testing benches and Noise, Vibration, Harshness chambers.

Job Description

Master Thesis: Analysis of Implementation of Alternative LSR Raw Material

Project Overview: We are excited to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated Master’s student to conduct an in-depth analysis on implementing alternative Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) raw materials within our production processes. This project will explore sustainable material options, aiming to improve cost-efficiency and enhance production quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Material Analysis: Leverage engineering lifecycle management knowledge to assess current LSR materials and properties (e.g., compression set, hardness, elongation), identifying critical properties that align with our product requirements.
  • Market Research: Conduct a market analysis of SEA LSR suppliers, focusing on price, total cost of ownership, and carbon footprint. Evaluate various LSR grades and identify suitable alternatives.
  • Process Optimization: Investigate potential optimizations in follow-up processes, such as oven or plasma treatments, considering local, non-post-curing material types.
  • Cost Efficiency: Analyze potential cost savings through optimized material choices, reduced storage, transportation, and enhanced production cycles.
  • Benefits Analysis: Assess how alternative LSR grades can impact process stability, waste reduction, and production efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

  1. Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Mechanical, Environmental, Process, & Energy Engineering or related engineering fields.
  2. Strong command of English (C1) and native-level proficiency in German.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced in project management

Ideal Candidate:

  • Background in industrial engineering and lifecycle management, with practical experience in managing production changes and optimizing product performance.
  • Knowledge or experience in raw materials related to LSR, LSR injection molding, and similar processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, work collaboratively with international teams, and apply analytical skills to improve process efficiencies.
  • Comfortable working independently and skilled in coordinating complex projects with cross-functional teams.
