The Senior Quality Engineer (SQE) will lead a team of quality professionals, as well as actively consulting to a product area ensuring the identification and full-fillment of quality targets, which should lead to a higher customer satisfaction.  The Senior Quality Engineer will work together with other divisional experts or Trade Good Suppliers in an international environment, to manage quality activities and ensure continuous improvement efforts across the organization. 

  • Supervise an enthusiastic Quality Team, while adapting to changing conditions and embracing new change.
  • Develop quality strategies and targets in alignment with overall business objectives. 
  • Lead quality function in product development to ensure PDCA of quality targets. 
  • Collaborate with teams throughout the product lifecycle and track appropriate quality assurance measures to achieve required product maturities.
  • Derive measures to improve preventive quality of our products and contribute to their implementation in the development process. 
  • Create methods and reports to manage stakeholder expectations and foster data-driven communication in quality. (ex: PowerBI).
  • Monitor and conduct analysis of warranty return & repair data, failure cost, and customer complaints for early detection of quality-related problems with a data driven approach. 
  • Identify and drive quality improvement and warranty cost reduction initiatives by ensuring timely and methodological problem solving through techniques such as  8D, Fishbone, 5why, etc. 
  • Manage Trade Good Supplier development and claim management 
  • Contribute to reduced Time-to-Market by improved execution of processes and avoidance of deviations in projects and products. 

Qualifications

  • This role is hybrid onsite in Burnsville MN (at least 3 days/week)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a comparable degree program.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional work experience in product and/or quality engineering, preferably for a larger organization in manufacturing 
  • Quality improvement and warranty cost reduction initiatives by ensuring timely and methodological problem solving through techniques such as  8D, Fishbone, 5why, etc. 
  • Hands on experience with FMEA or any other risk management techniques (eg FAM Failure Analysis Matrix)
  • Experienced in development processes, preferably in agile principles as well as ISO Standards (i.e. ISO 9001, AS9100) 
  • PMI Project Management or internal ISO Audit Certifications are desirable. 
  • Must demonstrate flexibility and act as a strong team-player across different international and multicultural stakeholders, with a distinctive sense of responsibility, customer orientation and a high level of social competence. 
  • Must be resilient in a changing business environment, and have excellent communication skills. 
  • Must have track record management experience and also lead with confidence across different management levels and work cross-functionally. 
  • Must have a process-oriented way of thinking paired with a strong analytical approach to get things done. 
  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English (German or Chinese is a plus). 
  • Domestic and international travel required up to 20%.
