Job Description

Your contribution to something big:

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will join one of the application software development teams of the Electric Solutions group at Bosch Home Comfort, located in Aveiro. Your work will focus on the software development activities for the Software Download Tool which enables on-site software updates of Heat Pump appliances installed in the field and the coordination of an efficient working model with internal and external partners. In this position, you will:

  • Take responsibility for supporting the Software Download Tool application (fixing bugs, identifying and implementing improvements and/or developing new requested features, etc.);
  • Support with the maintenance of legacy application software for Air-to-Water Heat Pumps currently in the market;
  • Take part of an agile team, working with scrum methodology;
  • Ensure that the delivery of your assigned work meets the projects’ timelines.

Qualifications

What distinguishes you: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field;
  • Experience in software development using C# and C++ languages;
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms and design patterns;
  • Knowledge of bus systems such as CAN and Modbus and how to interface with them. Hands on experience with CAN UDS (ISO 14229) Protocol; 
  • Experience working with Json and XML languages;
  • Expertise in developing cross-platform applications for Windows using .NET, WPF and Windows Installer XML (WiX toolset) / Azure DevOps with a client-server architecture or other frameworks;
  • Experience with version control tools such as Git and ideally the Atlassian toolchain;
  • Ability to write clean, efficient and well-documented code;
  • Ability to debug, test and troubleshoot software issues;
  • Experience in embedded systems development and programming microcontrollers (optional);
  • Proficiency in using Visual Studio Code as an integrated development environment (optional);
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
  • A passion for learning new technologies and improving your skills;
  • Very good English skills due to our international working environment.

Additional Information

Internship duration: 12 months.
