Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Digital Accessibility Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ensuring digital content is accessible to all, following WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standards. This role involves working closely with design, development, and content teams to create accessible digital products, conducting accessibility audits, and providing actionable recommendations to improve compliance.Key Responsibilities & Expertise:Accessibility Audits:

Conduct thorough audits of websites, mobile applications, and digital content to identify accessibility issues and areas for improvement.

Guideline Compliance:

Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA/AAA standards, Section 508, and other relevant accessibility guidelines and legislation.

Consultation:

Collaborate with design, development, and content teams to integrate accessibility best practices into digital products from the ground up.

Remediation:

Provide detailed recommendations for remediating accessibility issues and work with teams to implement these changes.

Testing:

Use automated tools and manual testing methods (including assistive technologies such as screen readers) to validate accessibility compliance.

Training & Support:

Develop and deliver training sessions and materials on digital accessibility best practices for internal teams and clients.

Documentation:

Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of accessibility standards, audits, and remediation processes.

Stay Updated:

Keep up-to-date with the latest accessibility trends, tools, and best practices, and ensure the organization’s digital products evolve to meet changing standards.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with an understanding of how these technologies impact accessibility.

Tools:

Familiarity with accessibility testing tools such as Axe, Wave, JAWS, NVDA, etc.

Knowledge:

Understanding of the legal landscape related to accessibility, including ADA, Section 508, and other global regulations.

Soft Skills:

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Certifications:

CPACC (Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies), WAS (Web Accessibility Specialist), or equivalent certifications are a plus. - Minimum one certification is preferred.

Qualifications

Graduate with minimum of 4 years of experience in digital accessibility, with a strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 guidelines and other relevant standards.
