Job Description

Sitting within the Research & Development department, the purpose of the position is to support the specialist role of Appliance Electrical Engineer. This encompasses supporting project related tasks (such as harness design and development); building specialist knowledge necessary for electrical approvals (LVD and EMC); supporting with various aspects of ongoing series electrical topics; assisting with general R&D electrical topics (test rigs, electrical prototypes, electrical fault-finding etc).

Responsibilities:

Electrical aspects (not including software) of product development and continuous improvement of products in serial production.

Tasks include:

  • Project support
  • Cable harness development
  • Electrical approvals
  • Creation of technical documents (e.g. appliance declarations)
  • Technical knowledge of electrical components
  • Application of electrical standards and electrical principles
  • Use of design and analysis tools
  • Produce test equipment and prototype components

Qualifications

  • Must have a degree or HND in Controls / Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of designing electro-mechanical solutions
  • Awareness of electrical principles, legislation and standards (e.g., EN60335)
  • Good teamwork and logical approach
  • Enjoys learning with an appetite for personal development
  • Full UK driving licence advantageous

Expected Start Date: 01/07/2024

Working Hours: 39 hours a week; Mon – Thurs 08.00 - 17.00 and Fri 08.00 - 16.00 with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break
