Job Description

Main Objective

As a Labor Relations Specialist you will develop the necessary strategies to achieve a healthy work environment, communication and positive relationships between management and employees. Oversight of employee behavior and regulatory compliance, your expertise in labor law and conflict resolution, you will participate in HR functions and cultivate a productive workforce.

What challenges will you have?

  • Develop and maintain positive employee relations by promoting open communication channels, addressing employee concerns, and facilitating conflict resolution.
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with labor laws, employment regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Collaborate with management to design and implement HR policies and procedures that align with labor relations strategies.
  • Facilitate collective bargaining negotiations, contract administration, and grievance handling processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to supervisors and managers on employee relations matters, including coaching, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain accurate employee records related to labor relations activities and generate reports as needed.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree (Law, Psychology or Administration)
  • Advanced knowledge in Federal Labor Law
  • From 2 to 5 years of experience in similar positions. 
  • Advanced English level is a must. 

Technical Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of basic personnel practices as well as labor and employment laws is required.
  • Monitor compliance with our Internal Work Regulations and code of Ethics.
  • Relevant experience counseling on and/or processing involuntary terminations where individual judgment was used to make recommendations, managing employee-related cases from investigation to resolution.
  • Strong experience in employment law preferably in a multi-state environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and interviewing/investigative skills are required due to the volume and nature of interaction with all levels of management and staff when gathering information to offer guidance and make recommendations.
