Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Systems Testing Engineer to oversee and execute comprehensive testing activities for our BSW (Base Software) and ecosystem components within the Automotive domain. The role involves system integration testing, BSW component testing, acceptance testing, and maintaining the testing infrastructure, particularly Hardware-in-Loop (HiL) setups. The ideal candidate will design test system architecture, coordinate test activities and implement measures to enhance software quality through testing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Independently lead, manage and coordinate testing efforts for BSW and ecosystem components, including system integration tests with various ecosystem elements.
  • Conduct BSW component testing and acceptance testing, ensuring compliance with defined specifications.
  • Manage and maintain Hardware in Loop testing infrastructure, ensuring its efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop test system architecture and designs, planning and coordinating testing activities.
  • Identify measures to enhance software quality through testing activities.
  • Analyze requirements, translate them into test cases and scripts, and participate in requirement reviews for testability.
  • Execute manual and automated tests, validate results, and continuously improve the test environment and methodologies.
  • Develop, review, and execute system test cases, configure test environments, and evaluate test results.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • At least 4 years of experience in complex embedded safety system/ECU or Automotive ECU testing.
  • Lower software level understanding
  • Proficiency in tools like IBM ALM, ECU-Test, or TPT.
  • Experience with HiL testing environments like ETAS, dSPACE or NI.
  • Good knowledge of CAN tools like CANoe, CANalyzer, or CANape/INCA.
  • Adaptability to evolving tools and technologies, familiarity with CI/CD environments, and scripting capabilities.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like CAPL scripting, Python.
  • Strong analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, yet collaboratively within a team.
  • Readiness for occasional short work trips, mostly Germany
  • Strong communication skills in English language

Additional Skills (Nice to Have)

  • ISTQB Advanced level Test Manager certification or Foundation level.
  • Experience in testing ECU Control Software in MIL (Model-in-loop) and SIL (Software-in-Loop) environments.
