Job Description

The realization of robust and reliable augmented reality (AR) glasses poses several optical challenges. Join us in this exciting endeavor as a research intern or thesis student.

  • During your assignment, you will develop and apply sophisticated modelling and optimization tools to design a key optical element in AR display prototypes.
  • You will review the current state of the art and implement an improved design workflow, taking into account various physical effects.
  • Last but not least, you will work closely with our optical engineers and scientists, ideally resulting in a scientific publication in a leading journal.

Qualifications

  • Education: studies in the field of Photonics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or comparable
  • Experience and Knowledge: in modelling and optimizing complex systems; comfortable with C++ or Python; ideally knowledge of the optics and photonics context
  • Personality and Working Practice: enjoy problem solving and working in cross-disciplinary research groups, and look forward to developing optical skills
  • Languages: fluent in German or English

Additional Information

Start: according to prior agreement
Duration: 6 - 12 months (if the total duration of the internship exceeds 6 months, confirmation as mandatory internship is required for the entire period according to the study regulations)
