Job Description

Diablo/Freud is looking for an organized, highly motivated, and driven supply chain/logistics recent graduate with a competitive fire to fill our Supply Chain Intern role.

The role is for a one year contract term and is a 100% on site role working out of the warehouse/office located in Mississauga, ON.

Organize supply and demand across the extended supply chain in order to achieve service level target in the most efficient manner.

  • Demand Planning: Manage sales forecasts, promotional planning, new product launches in order to constantly update demand patterns in the system and for the suppliers.
  • Inventory Management: Manage add*ONE system parameters in order to achieve optimal inventory levels allowing for fill rate and service level target achievement in an utmost efficient fashion (SC Cost, capital charge). Collaborate with Sales and Controlling to manage phase out and sell off of excess and obsolete product. 
  • Inventory Control: Assist warehouse with optimization of pick bin parameters, assessment of quarantined/parked goods, receipt of complex shipments, cycle counting and other special projects.
  • Administration: Book deliveries (invoices) in SAP and IBM AS400.  Maintain system master data. 
  • Supplier / Sales Integration (S&OP): Constant communication in demand and supply validation meetings with all relevant extended supply chain instances (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Suppliers, 3PL and New Product Development) in order to balance demand and supply in the global supply chain network. 
  • Reporting, Meetings: In charge of daily, weekly and monthly reporting (Service Level 1 Report,  Air-Freight Reporting and Management, Excess and Obsolete Reporting). Participate in regular S&OP and other meetings in order to assure constant information sharing and decision making.
  • Warehouse Work is required: this role plays an integral role in warehouse efficiency and requires a candidate that is comfortable spending parts of their days in a warehouse.

Qualifications

  • Must be recent graduate (within the last 6 months) of a Supply Chain or Logistics Program.
  • Very strong communication skills required cross departmentally as well as through being able to understand and apply complex concepts
  • Strong warehouse planning/movement is necessary
  • Basic understanding and utilization of concepts and practices; demonstrates sufficient knowledge and skill to accomplish routine tasks.
  • Intermediate computer program proficiency in MS Office, MS Excel is a must.
  • Application of theories, concepts, principles and techniques to varied tasks or situations of somewhat difficult nature.  Exercises judgement within parameters of defined practices.
  • Assignments are broad in nature requiring originality and ingenuity. May occasionally lead or direct the work of others.
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and the ability to resolve complex issues.  Proven experience in planning and accomplishing goals.  Operates with substantial latitude for reviewed action or decision.  Provides guidance to others.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with SAP is a must
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs.
