Job Description

Responsible for all finance and accounting activities in the company, you will lead the team in the Finance & Accounting Department. You will also oversee investor relations functions of the company.

The key element of this role is to develop the team, processes, methods, and systems to improve the efficiency of the company, as well as expand both locally and regionally significantly.

You will work closely with the founder in analyzing financial performance, provide insights and implement programs to drive profitability. This role entails managing the monthly closing process budgeting and forecasting, as well as engaging investors and shareholders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and reporting on the financial performance of projects and company by producing and presenting accurate financial reports to specific deadlines. Oversee the finance team and ensure timely closure of the monthly accounts. 
  • Responsible for statutory reporting and financial closing/reporting.
  • Managing and developing the company's financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems.
  • Drive fundraising efforts and investor relations.
  • Developing and implementing financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk.
  • Monitoring, interpreting, and managing budgets and cash flows and predicting future trends.
  • Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organizations such as IRAS.
  • Providing and interpreting financial information as and when required.
  • Oversee tax, internal controls, and audit-related matters.
  • Responsible for financial reporting and consolidation for the Group of companies, local and overseas.
  • Supporting the formulation of strategic and long-term business plans.
  • Researching, analyzing, and reporting on factors influencing business performance. Run simulations and scenario analysis.
  • Advising on and managing the set-up of Finance and accounting functions of affiliates (local and overseas).

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or an equivalent field.
  • Must be a Certified Accountant (CA).
  • Over 20 years of experience, with a preference for backgrounds in Finance or Operations. Experience dealing with venture capitalists (VCs), and audits is highly valued. Experience in aquaculture, IoT, and AI industries is advantageous.
  • Proven team leadership experience, capable of managing diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated strength in business operations, with the ability to work effectively in both local and international settings.
  • Active involvement in the implementation of ERP systems is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization, from entry-level employees to senior management.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, capable of contributing to the company's long-term planning and growth.
