In our Technique and Innovations department, you would be working together with mechanical engineers and experts in material-related fields to develop materials and coatings for all upcoming and future products.

Job Description

As an intern, your responsibilities include collecting and reporting information from diverse sources, such as suppliers, customers, corporate research (CR) groups, and literature, specifically concerning the air foil bearing project.

You can think of:

  • Conducting a literature review.
  • Providing support to design and modeling groups.
  • Investigating the need for replacing a Teflon coating on two parts of the air foil bearing due to a PFAS ban. You would address the issues related to the current coating's limitations on the bearing's lifetime in the current application.
  • Collecting and finding the requirements for the use of air foil bearings in different applications.
  • Investigating the rules of government concerning PFAS for new and current products.
  • Reviewing the existing investigations conducted by the CR group in Germany and identifying any previous attempts or findings.
  • At the end you would collect all available information to aid in finding a suitable replacement for the coating.

Qualifications

You are our perfect candidate if:

  • You are currently in your 2nd or 3rd year of studying a bachelor (HBO level) in the field of Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • You have affinity for technical innovations.
  • You are a natural networker and entrepreneur.
  • You are motivated and have excellent communication skills.
  • You are fluent in English, written and spoken, where Dutch is not mandatory.
  • You are available from September 2024 for at least 5 months.

Nice to have:

  • You are practical, creative and responsible individual.
