Job Description

  • Manage the design, specification and manufacture of process, assembly and test equipment for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones.
  • Manage internal projects to ensure they are achieved within agreed time-frames and budgets further providing regular updates and reports when required.
  • Generate internal documentation to company standards on a timely basis with accuracy.
  • Plan, direct and coordinate manufacturing processes within allocated parameters to ensure minimum impact and loss of production time.
  • Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods by utilising knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
  • Collaborate with Production Managers and Engineers regarding product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Liaise with suppliers to determine product specifications, Arrange for purchase of equipment, materials and parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • HNC/HND level in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
  • Preferably have completed an Engineering apprenticeship.
  • Practical background, ideally trained as an apprentice Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience of working in a manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics and/or pneumatics preferred.
  • Understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement tools is advantageous.
