Job Description

  • Responsible to develop, validate and implement packaging concepts for finished goods based on customer requirements and plant guidelines. Additionally, recognizes opportunities on raw material supplier’s packaging to optimize costs and handling. Packaging engineer identifies, develops, leads, implements and follows up improvement and/or cost savings/avoidance projects in logistics.
  • Validate BOM’s to ensure all packaging items are marked properly for cost and production relevancy to avoid PPV’s and/or inventory deviations.
  • Responsible for standardization of labeling requirements for inbound goods from a value stream and International Product Network standpoint.
  • Responsible for inbound packaging approval in release with vendors.
  • Responsible to develop, validate and implement packaging concepts for finished goods based on customer requirements and plant guidelines.
  • Recognizes opportunities on raw material supplier’s packaging to optimize costs and handling
  • Main contact to cross functional teams, customer and suppliers, to support topics related to design and quality of the expendable/returnable packaging.
  • Support on the analysis and monitoring of the packaging budget and forecast (Business Plan, Current Forecast, monthly cost reports) .
  • Identifies, develops, leads, implements and follow up improvement and/or cost savings/avoidance projects in logistics and cost/piece.
  • Usage of problem-solving tools to recommend and execute solutions to overcome issues to meet customer requirements
  • Support implementation of automation of packaging processes together with support departments.
  • Responsible for benchmarking packaging activities and processes related with other plants, to promote continuous improvement.
  • Ensures compliance to central directives, plant and BPS requirements.

• SAP Logistics transactions knowledge - Intermediate
• Finished Goods and/or raw material planning processes knowledge - Basic
• Budget & forecast development and tracking knowledge/skills – Intermediate
• Microsoft office skills - Advanced
• Disposition to work in Juarez Area 95% and visit to ELP Warehouse 5%
