Job Description

What is BPS?

BPS stands for Bosch Production Systems which encompasses Lean Manufacturing and the continued improvement of the business value stream, through preparation, planning, implementation (PDCA) and auditing.

The roll will require you to:

Create a culture that embraces the adoption of BPS principals throughout source, make and deliver in line with business and BPS audit requirements. Using moderation, facilitation and mentoring tools.
Organise and control internal BPS assessments and support arrangements for external audits.
Drive System CIP (continues improvement) activities in response to business requirements ensuring adherence to established criteria throughout source, make and deliver.
To develop, install and maintain robust material systems throughout manufacturing, including maintenance of PFEP (Plan for Every Part) in accordance with business and BPS requirements.
To Manage BPS and Business projects as defined by MOE.

KEY OBJECTIVES & TASKS

• Organise, control and report internal BPS audit reviews
• Organise , control and report external BPS audits
• Support and drive BPS maturity improvement , through mentoring and moderation across the entire value stream
• Support all departments in achieving BPS objectives
• Support Point CIP & SFM (Shop Floor Management) activities across entire value stream
• Drive System CIP activities , ensuring compliance to criteria
• Support site Value Stream Manager in External BPS audit preparations
• Support site Value in System CIP approach , including periodic reviews
• Establish , install and maintain material supply systems in accordance with process and customer requirements
• Maintain Plan For Every Part (PFEP) information for all applications
• Pro-active involvement in new product and / or process introduction in accordance with BPS requirements
• Support mentoring of interns in developing and contributing skill sets within your department.
• Delivery of BPS basics training on site (once trained and competent)
• Ensure safe working practices and adherence to H S & E rules when implementing new systems and processes
• Proactively look for ways to increase efficiency, optimisation and reduce costs.
• Communicate consistently and effectively to all levels

To Manage BPS and Business projects as defined by MOE.

This role is there to support and advance the developing BPS culture at an acceptable pace. The effectiveness of material systems within this environment is paramount within this culture.

The BPS coordinator is a member of the CyP Management team and will initiate and support changes and improvements going forward.

Qualifications

Degree preferred but not essential

Manufacturing experience at a management/supervisory level desired but not essential.

Level 3/5 leadership and management qualification preferred but not essential with evidence of being in a supervisory/management roll

Experience in Auditing

Proficient in KPI’s, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Additional Information

Expected Start Date: June 2023 (date negotiable)

Working Hours: 39 hours a week; Mon – Thurs 07.00 – 16.00 with a 30 minute unpaid lunchbreak and Fri 07.00 - 12.00

Training will be provided, and you may be requested to travel for training with some overnight stays.

Once certified/qualified as a BPS assessor you may be required to conduct assessment at other plants in the UK or Europe.
