Responsible for related area regarding manufacturing engineering (NC-Programs, Tools, Fixtures, Process parameters), responsible to develop process, design of tools, fixtures and gages, creating of needed documentations (working instructions, set-up sheets, PFMEA…), supporting manufacturing in daily questions and problems, responsible for optimizations, scrap reduction, cycle time reduction and efficiency, Engineering changes

S/he must be able and willing to be hands on at the shop floor at machine, work holding, tooling, gaging, deburring, CNC controller, etc. to perform the above requirements on her/his own as required.

Implement principles of BPS and 5S (6S) standards, throughout the areas of responsibility.

Prepare and conduct time studies to update the operating system and cycle time reductions

• Take responsibility: 

Take responsibility for leading a group of machines and related processes to achieve plant wide goals in safety, quality, delivery, cost, efficiency, etc. (ergonomic, mechanic, material flow, work instruction, visualization tools, etc.)

Must be capable to execute ongoing effective training of production associates

• Reliable implementation: 

Develop and implement stable manufacturing processes for existing product and new product launch in reference to fixture, tooling, gauging incl. associate training on all shift’s (manage processes from single part drawing to internal and Customer PPAP approval)

Develop and perform manufacturing PFMEA, assign proper RPN, initiate and drive activities to correct high risk conditions, implement preventive actions to protect our customer’s

• Think holistically: 

Work with the quality department to solve systemic Customer issues through use of 8D, A3, PDCA, point and system CIP. (analyze, stabilize, improve)

• Create cooperation: 

Insure communication between all shifts, (individually and as team).  Develop and champion together with Maintenance a TPM program for all Assembly equipment.

• Drive value add: 

S/he will use CIP for down time and interruptions of manufacturing processes and propose and implement improvement possibilities to meet or exceed production standards on machine set up, gaging and measuring of product, tool change, work holding, deburring, material flow and transport, etc.

• Personality:

Team environment oriented, disciplined , organized , self-motivated & self-driven

• Work History:

min 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing oriented environment

min. 5 years’ experience in CNC programming of horizontal and vertical machining centers with Siemens 840D, experience in OD., surface and form grinding with common abrasive and CBN wheels would be a strong plus

Experience with Auto Cad , Solid Works or Pro-E , TDM, Pilot, experience using an MRP-II system (preferably SAP), basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing , principles of BPS / TPS

• Experience and Knowledge: 

Excellent technical skills and knowledge in manufacturing of component’s in cast iron and steel, knowledge of work holding fixture and tooling design

• Languages: English. German would be a plus

• Education: Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
