Job Description

  • Studies specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirements.

  • Create or update CNC program files using G/M code and parametric programming per Bosch Rexroth part drawings, sequence of operations, set-up sheet requirements and machining parameters to ensure accuracy and delivery per customer requirements and Bosch Rexroth Standards.

  • Document CNC processes for the parts being programmed.

  • Maintains holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines.

  • Incorporate expert knowledge to determine most efficient speeds and feeds, offsets, to maintain the highest quality product.

  • Ability to drive and work in cross-departmental continuous improvement projects.

  • Interacts with Design/Production Engineering and Quality Assurance to reach mutually agreeable solutions.

  • Participate to train new employees / Cross-train on other functions within the team.

  • Overtime may be required, sometimes with little advance notice.

  • Perform other essential and related duties as may be assigned

Qualifications

  • Associates or Technical degree from an accredited institution (i.e. CHEA) with 2 years of CNC programming experience or High school graduate or equivalent (ex.  PA Dept of Education, FL Dept of Education, US Military, CHEA) with 4 years of CNC programming experience. 

  • Minimum 2 years of set up and operation experience on CNC Horizontal/Vertical machining centers.

  • Proficiency in using programming systems such as MasterCam, AutoCAD and Mazak/Siemens controls.

  • Proficiency in using G/M code and parametric programming to program CNC Horizontal/Vertical machining centers to make adjustments/program at the machine controls.

  • Extensive knowledge for both handling and usage of precision tools including, but not limited to: vernires, thread gauge, bore gauges, micrometers, tooling set-up fixtures.

  • Ability to verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications using precision measuring instruments.

  • Ability to setup a CNC center for production including, but not limited to: fixture setup, verification (prove-out) of first piece along with program, completion of production runs.

  • Ability to read and interpret programs, prints and coordination sheets.

  • Ability to verify correct cutting speed and feed rates for tooling and materials.

  • Ability to prioritize and accommodate changes in work schedules.

  • Good interpersonal, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills
