Job Description

Software System Designer - Functional Safety Expert

  • Requirement elicitation & breakdown of the technical specifications from vehicle manufacturers for the Powertrain projects
  • Requirement management in ASPICE standard within the framework of System and SW requirements analysis, internal & implicit requirements of System and SW components, putting into operation and requirement based test specification for new Powertrain systems.
  • Preparation, handling and tracking of Change Requests
  • Coordinates Change Requests between customer project, customer platform and feature development
  • Develops and analyzes the impact of ECU System Requirements, System Functionality Requirements and Software Requirements, in collaboration with the system architect.
  • Review of requirements, Architectural design elements and related verification criteria in order to ensure test ability
  • Develop Test Cases based on the requirements, Architectural design elements and related verification criteria
  • Execute and document the SW- Integration Tests, Regression tests, and System tests and verify the results
  • Review of Test Automation Scripts
  • Review of functional safety norm (e.g. ISO 26262), ASIL classifications of requirements, Security norms, FMEA etc in the project context
  • Planning / coordinating / tracking of all functional safety related activities in the Powertrain project
  • Calibration support for the high end vehicle projects
  • Support in the Project preparation phase for making quotation, budgeting, work package breakdown, offer preparation for the Powertrain project


Engineering degree in Electronics 

6 to 8 yrs of experience in Automotive software development, preferably in PowerTrain/Engine management domain

  • Requirement management & Change request management Processes & Tools (DOORS, SVN, ClearCase, ClearQuest etc)
  • Emission standards, OBD requirements, Monitoring requirements
  • Automotive Safety & Security requirement handling experience
  • Powertrain System & SW Architecture, System Architecture tools (IBM Rhapsody, Vector PREEvision etc)
  • Electric/Electronic Architecture design
  • Mapping of System architecture blocks to SW architecture blocks
  • Hardware Software Interfaces & testing methodology
  • System/SW architecture based test case preparation
  • Functional safety standards, FMEA
