Job Description

Would you like to increase your influence on product behavior, reliability, price, and every aspects of product development? Are you not afraid to go to automakers, system suppliers and discuss with them product features, test results and the likes on an equal level, deep diving into the technical details? Would you enjoy convincing customers, teammates, project leaders, management about technical solutions, and the necessary steps needed to deliver the right product?


Sounds like technical project manager? No, it is actually much more than that.


In our department, we are developing small enough products not to have a big team (so, all project members take multiple roles – wide range of topics, breadth of experience) but complex enough to hire the best engineers with a deep understanding of the operation of the device, detailed overview of the customer wishes, needs and requirements, knowledge of the state-of-the-art products on the same field, and a decent set of soft skills (negotiation, presentation, determined but attentive, just to name a few…). In addition, the full product responsibility is given to the department, so decisions made here are final and directly affecting the product, the customer, the management, and even the car driver at the end.


To be able to tackle with all these challenges, we are looking for a system engineer who is possessing such skills written above or eagerly wants to learn the missing ones. To give a few more example for do’s and don’ts: you will not develop code, but have to understand what the algorithm is doing and what is its effect on the system behavior. You will not design circuit parts but have to understand the influence of its tolerances to the functional behavior of the sample. You will not execute or design test cases but have to review them whether those tests are covering the use cases at the customer. You will not be the overall project leader but have to keep an eye on technical tasks so that the deliveries meet the promises and expectations.


Sound like a lot of work? Sure. You are definitely not going to be bored…

Some concrete tasks derived from the topics above:



►Collect, analyze and negotiate customer (stakeholder) requirements,

►Design the system and subsystem operations, interfaces which fulfill the requirements in an efficient way

►Formulate and define sub-system requirements and assign them to domains,

►Review of System Test Specification / Plan

►Take responsibility for system components.

►Establish infrastructure for measuring metrics in systems engineering domain

►Cooperate with stakeholders (such as manufacturing, testing, etc.)

►Develop, modify or apply existing system architecture (mechanics, HW, SW) taking into account internal and external customer's requirements

►Negotiate technical questions and solutions with the customer

►Cooperation and technical leading of different domains (Hardware engineers, Software engineers, Test engineers, Mechanical engineers)


What distinguishes you


►Bsc/Msc in electrical, mechatronics engineering or equivalent

►Experience in embedded SW, HW, Mechanic or System development

►Knowledge of relevant requirements engineering tools and development guidelines

►Basic knowledge of system architecture design concepts and methods

►Knowledge on model based design methodology and strategies

►Knowledge of relevant system architecture design tool (E.g., Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody, etc.)

►Good problem solving skills and analytic mind

►Initiative and creative personality

►Strong negotiation and leadership skills

►Good English language skills, German is an advantage

►Experience in the automotive industry is an advantage
