Job Description

This position includes technical project management responsibilities of electric power steering (EPS) system. The ideal candidate would be highly self-motivated and have the willingness to dive right in to the exciting mechatronic world of EPS. You will work directly with a comprehensive development team including mechanical design engineers, software developers, application / calibration engineers and fellow project managers to develop project specific solutions for driver assistance and/or automated driving technologies.

Objective:

The System Project Leader (SysPL) acts as one of the technical counterparts to the Program Manager and is responsible for making sure the technical team understands, fulfills customer’s requirements in a timely manner, this role will support the lead system project lead on the project(s), to coordinate and plan local and global multi-disciplinary engineering activities to achieve the goal.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the evaluation of customer specifications including translating system requirements into DOORS, evaluating requirement and test coverage and support of issue tracking (Problem Job Management).
  • Collaborate with the entire technical team to conduct system impact analysis and ensure sufficient validation for all changes.
  • Establish, cultivate and maintain a positive customer relationship as key technical contact for system topics on customer project(s).
  • Ensure system development, validation, and delivery are according to guidelines and processes (e.g. ISO26262, ASPICE, IATF 16949).
  • Monitor, track, and drive to completion the technical list of open points for all system topics.
  • Budget planning and reporting for system engineering, development and testing costs.
  • Support creation of the System-FMEA and ensure implementation throughout the project
  • Regular reporting of project status (technical, budgetary, etc) to management in US and Germany.
  • Support all continuous improvement and cost reduction efforts.
  • Work with the Sales department in acquisition support for development efforts and technical descriptions.
  • Travel (up to 20%, domestic & international) to customer sites, Bosch sites, and supplier sites is required

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in technical project management of automotive product development
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related technical field
  • Experience with vehicle and system test and release procedures in automotive or related industry.
  • Mechatronic systems experienced preferred
  • Capable to work independently in an organized and structured fashion with strong analytical skills that supports a systematic approach to problem resolution and strong communication skills to discuss issues/challenges with global development teams and external customers.
  • Experience in systems / requirements engineering.
  • Experience with a safety critical product preferred (ISO 26262)
  • Thorough and hands-on understanding in the product development lifecycle
  • Process    knowledge     processes     DFMEA     (e.g. ISO26262, ASPICE, IATF 16949).
  • Experience with vehicle and system test and release procedures in automotive or related industry
  • Experience in systems / requirements engineering.
  • Good written / verbal communication and presentation skills to discuss issues / solutions with team and external customer.
  • Ability to structure, moderate and promote collaboration with international teams, negotiate with customer, support global organization, and understanding with working in global multicultural projects.
  • Capable to work independently in an organized and structured fashion with strong analytical skills that supports a systematic approach to problem resolution and strong communication skills to discuss issues/challenges with global development teams and external customers.

Nice to have:

  • Masters of Science in Engineering or related technical field
  • Hands on experience with Agile development methods (SCRUM, Kanban, Lean, etc.)
  • Collaborate with software and function development on advanced Driver Assistance technologies such as Autonomous Driving, Lane Keeping, Automatic Parking, and more.
  • Good knowledge on EPS Design & Development
