Job Description

► Lead and coordinate mechanical development, series care and ratio project activities of instrument clusters, center displays, head units and silver boxes from acquisition/ concept phase through serial manufacturing with a team of 1-10 engineers depending on project size, phase and needs

►  Organize and lead regular project meetings, define and delegate work packages, ensure that mechanical team provides inputs in time and quality (e.g. 3D models, FMEA, root cause analysis, technical risk assessments, product engineering documents), follow up and document the execution progress (e.g. in open point lists, SuperOpl etc.)

►  Ensure that mechanical project cost, quality and time fulfills the overall project and department targets

►  Create, follow up and regular update of effort estimations, capacity and time plans, ensure project execution accordingly, escalate topics if needed

► Close collaboration and regular information sharing with the internal Bosch domains (international cross-functional teams: HW, SW, simulation, display, illumination, dial plates, overall project management, validation, test, system, purchasing, quality, production and sales) and external Bosch partners (OEM customers, suppliers)

►  Direct contact to OEM customers, represents the mechanical engineering team in technical and project topics

►  Report and present project progress, status both to internal Bosch domains and OEM customers, including management

► Support purchasing and mechanical engineers during negotiations with suppliers in sourcing and nomination phase (RFQ)

► Support production, quality, mechanical engineering, purchasing and suppliers during new product introduction, industrialization, ramp up, sample builds and product release (PPAP) phase, ensure their execution in time and quality, prepare and communicate risk assessments

►  Create, coordinate and follow up tool orders, engineering changes, bill of materials (BOM) and concessions

►  Prepare for internal and external project audits, ensure that mechanical project complies

► Prepare and maintain project documents according to the quality systems of Bosch and OEM customers


►  BSc/ MSc in mechanical engineering, mechatronics or comparable

►  Experience in project leading

►  Strong communication skills in English

►  Structured and systematic working mindset

►  Ability to make decisions, to adopt to frequent changes

►  Stress and conflict tolerant personality

►  Basic knowledge about the industrial specific technologies and know-how: injection molding, plastics, die-casting, sheet metal, ISIR/ PPAP, DFSS, GD&T, DRBFM, problem solving methods (e.g. 5why, Ishikawa, 8D), international and automotive standards

►  Experience in agile methods is a plus (e.g. Kanban, Scrumban, Scrum)

►  Willingness to travel
