Company Description

As a Transportation Group Leader for internal transport at Bosch an individual will need to be focused on daily problem solving and analysis to bring continuous improvement opportunities within the region. They will need to bring a strong drive to deliver to customer expectations and communicate transparently and directly. Develop and maintain cost-effective transportation service for the company. Responsible for effectively planning, organizing, coordinating and directing all activities with the movement of materials into and out of the distribution center network. As well as following all Foreign Trade Compliance and processes.

Job Description

-Manage:

o Freight spend reporting KPIs, support with GS/CTS and AA/CTG teams

o Ongoing action items that drive improvements using CIP, A3 and PDCA processes

            o Urgent delivery requests and escalations within North America

o Response/Address carrier service problems (like no show, late pick-ups, driver issues, equipment issues, situations requiring LOG overtime, etc)

- Develop working relationships with Bosch plant transportation and material planning groups to:

o Clearly understand requirements for daily management of freight

o Proactively communicate delays or other impacts to their deliveries

- Monitor:

o On-time delivery performance and reporting KPI’s

o Customs clearance performance of freight forwarders, carriers, steam ship lines, and airlines.

  • Initiate and follow thru on team’s status for completing action items for projects as needed to implement savings initiatives, customer network optimization opportunities, plant requirements, etc.

  • Support, identify, and communicate
                      o Corrective actions
                      o Deviations
                      o Lean processes

  • Coordinate associate hiring, training and onboarding plans

  • Interface with LSP service, performance and transition

  • Support Freight Payment processes and problem resolution

  • Manage iSTAR Administrative and Operational sides

  • Manage HAZ MAT Transportation responsibilities

  • Support carrier loss and damage claim management

  • Support track & trace of all US AA import shipments

  • Support with GS/PUI throughout Freight Tenders, including operational constraints, carrier performance feedback, risk management (carrier depth), etc.

  • Responsible for auditing and approving for payment of freight costs

Ability to adjust to emergency situations and resolve last minute changes in shipping requests
 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelors Degree in Business Field of Supply Chain Management or Industrial & Operations Engineering or other Transport logistics related field
- 5 -7 years’ experience in Transportation related role with strong background in international air and sea freight

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with project and timeline management
- Continuous improvement process working experience

- 8D/ 5-Why Problem Solving Experience

- After hours availability to support critical shipments as needed
- Flexible worker:  Ability to work both independent as well as a team environment

-Ability to travel 25%, both within U.S. and International
