Robert Bosch LLC seeks a Sr. Hardware Engineer at its facility located at 15000 Haggerty Rd., Plymouth, MI 48170. Provides platform technical support for the tandem master cylinder (TMC) and pedal feel simulator (PFS) sub-assemblies within the Integrated Power Brake (IPB) assembly. Provides technical support and coordination for the brake fluid level indicator switch for all North American integrated power brake applications including the design release (e.g. generation of detailed prints, dimensional stack-ups, and bill of materials). Provides validation testing report generation, and issue resolution during launch and on-going series production. REQS: This position requires a Bachelor degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, plus 5 years of work experience in the designing and testing of hydraulic brake components in the automotive industry. Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience with: (1) Development of validation testing (e.g. pedal apply of actuation) and measurement methods to evaluate engineering changes (e.g. position measurement via height gage, force measurement via transducers and spring load gages); (2) Using TMC components (e.g. aluminum pistons, molded seals, and springs) and their related interfaces to troubleshoot NVH problems that occur during the apply and release directions of the brake pedal assembly; (3) Utilizing the analytical tools and design philosophy for PFS components (e.g. plunger pistons, seals, and springs) to establish functioning PFS subassemblies that meet customer force-travel curve and reliability expectations; (4) Conducting design review based on Failure Modes (DRBFM) analysis on component related changes so that risk assessments can be properly evaluated and communicated to the customer; and (5) Dimensional stack-up analysis, CAD and print layouts, GD&T callouts, and Bill of Material (BOM) content managementApply below.
