Job Description

The selected candidate will report to the Automotive Aftermarket brand protection manager.  The major tasks include:

  • Work with brand protection management team to develop, deploy and utilize services and data generated by selected online monitoring platform
  • Analyze and aggregate US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) import data
  • Perform/request take-downs of online listings of counterfeit goods or listings that infringe  company IP rights
  • Gather, parse and organize data related to take-down data related to Key Point Indicators (KPIs)
  • Prepare KPI data and organize into presentations
  • Organize sample parts related to investigations
  • Create investigative reports analyzing and comparing counterfeit vs genuine parts
  • Interface with law enforcement as necessary
  • Update and maintain brand protection database



  • Current undergraduate/graduate student who has taken brand protection management coursework
  • Candidate must be able to work in Broadview, IL - there is no relocation stipend or housing provided
  • Seeking a master or bachelor degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (unofficial transcript required at time of application to confirm cumulative GPA)
  • Experience using online monitoring platforms to remove infringing listings, products and infringers from online market places
  • Strong Excel (Intermediate level) and PowerPoint skills (v-lookups, charts, graphs, pivot tables)
  • Must be available to work 35-40 hrs per week (Monday – Friday) for 6 months ex. June/July – December 2020
  • Proactive, energetic attitude with willingness to take on new tasks
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex topics to management
  • Current understanding or ability to learn how to work with and be discrete concerning sensitive and confidential information and topics


  • Experience interfacing or working with law enforcement
  • Working with Tableau software
  • Knowledge of automotive parts (sensors, pumps, spark plugs, injectors, etc…) and other consumer goods such as power tools is a plus
