Job Description

Your contribution to something big

  • Test Development Engineer for the verification of engine control unit software;
  • Development, execution and maintenance of automated tests for verification of engine control unit software;
  • Analysis of software requirements and software design documents;
  • Close cooperation and coordination of the requirements of the automated tests with the corresponding project and specialist departments (test strategy, test, engine control, model and simulation infrastructure development);
  • Using creativity and freedom: actively use personal experience and expertise in the customer-oriented implementation and optimization of test and application automation;
  • Active participation in the root-cause error analysis, problem finding and debugging;
  • Check of relevant circumstances: error recognition, error memory handling and backup algorithms, deactivation by calibration, switch-off conditions, after-run, checks after different types of recoveries;
  • Use state-of-the-art testing environments (SIL, MIL, HIL, Virtualization, etc.) for software and systems used in the Automotive industry;
  • Support and expert support for the users of the automated tests;
  • Contribute with creative ideas for automating the software and system tests in the direction of obtaining a continuous testing environment for classic and future drive technologies;
  • Develop and prioritize solutions based on present and future concepts, in close cooperation with our internal national and international development partners from different domains (HW, SW, System, and Test);
  • Observe testing technology trends and propose necessary adjustments in the process and tool environment;



What distinguishes you

  • Education: University degree in Automotive Engineering, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, Telecommunications or a similar field of study;
  • Experience in:

o Systems Architecture, Software Architecture, and Software Development principles (V-model, Agile, configuration management, requirements

management, etc.);

o Specification and development of automated tests, preferably in the field of verification of automotive ECU software;

o Using Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) or rapid-prototype systems (ETAS, dSpace, etc);

o Handling vehicle control devices, software programming skills (e.g. Matlab, Python, C/C++, etc);

o Software integration and test methodologies and tools (e.g. Jenkins, ECU Test, etc);

  • Know-how: 3+ years of professional experience with test automation, understanding of the ECU software and hardware;
  • Personality: flexible, team-oriented, self-motivated, strong curiosity and enthusiastic;
  • Working method: analytical thinking, interdisciplinary thinking, structured, good problem solving skills and responsible way of working;
  • Languages: Excellent oral and written communication skills; English fluently spoken and written; German represents an advantage;
