Job Description

  • A primary responsibility is to mentor others, engage, and lead teams in sustainable problem solving process.
  • Translate KPIs to relevant meaning for team members.
  • Utilize general knowledge of Quality System to ensure quality standards/alerts are up to date and met (i.e. PQI's, JBS,etc).
  • Demonstration of process and machine knowledge (i.e capable of trouble shooting technical and process problems, make process and machine adjustments that do not require PLC or LOTO).
  • Utilization of different problem solving techniques and root cause analysis.
  • Demonstration of standardized work tools to perform cycle time studies, use of and intent of standardized work documents, and process analysis.
  • Responsible for leading standard meetings within the scope of their control (e.g. shift meetings, roundtables, one on one meetings, etc.).
  • Translate metrics into line performance.
  • Deliver associate performance evaluations based on KPI and adherence to standards.
  • Manage teams through deviations of standardized work.
  • Understand and communicate emergency procedures to team members.
  • Conduct Group Leader pass down between shifts.
  • Investigate/counsel/document negative performance issues (e.g. counseling cards, EAP) and provide ongoing documented performance feedback (positive and negative).
  • Identify coaching and mentoring opportunities of team members to align the team to the value stream strategy by asking questions, leading mentee to answer and explain why.
  • Ensure team members are trained to the standards and qualified to perform the operation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Associate degree with 1 year supervisory experience OR 2 years supervisor experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize possible production losses, analyze line performance, and address line performance issues.
  • Ability to interpret and apply data.
  • General awareness of safety policies/procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize possible production losses, analyze line performance and address line performance issues.
  • General knowledge of Quality System to ensure quality standards/alerts are up to date and met (e.g. PQI's, JBS,etc).
  • Demonstration of process and machine knowledge (i.e capable of trouble shooting minor technical and process problems and making process and machine adjustments that do not require PLC or LOTO). Some technical skills are required and will be discussed in more detail during interview process.
  • General knowledge of BPS principles and tools.
  • Experience in the use of the PDCA process. Ability to understand, do, and teach.
  • Ability to mentor others, engage, and lead teams in sustainable problem solving process.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various levels.
  • Demonstration of different problem solving techniques and root cause analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to give constructive feedback

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Process, equipment, and system (UBK, portal, packout) knowledge in the area.
  • Demonstration of standardized work tools to perform cycle time studies, use of and intent of standardized work documents, and process analysis. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply data.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams through deviations of standardized work.
  • Experience and ability to translate KPIs into line performance.
  • Knowledge of company policy and procedures (HSE, HR).
  • Ability to assess and deliver associate performance evaluations based on KPI and adherence to standards.
  • Ability to seek understanding first and demonstrate active listening, communicate effectively to teams and individuals.
