The Borough of Hatboro is a small Borough located in Montgomery County PA.  Hatboro is rich in History, having the only school located on a battlefield, home to Pennsylvania's third oldest library, a clock made by Isaiah Lukens, historic buildings and so much more.

Borough of Hatboro Montgomery County, PA seeks a qualified individual to fill the position of full time Laborer/Driver.

The Laborer/Driver drives and operates Borough trucks and performs maintenance on Borough facilities such as parks, roads, buildings.

Responsibilities will include:

• Drives and operates dump trucks to haul materials or to plow snow and spread cinders and salt.
• Drive and operate trash truck along designated routes and to disposal site.
• Operates hand tools (shovel, rake, pick, etc.) and power tools (jackhammer, chainsaw, string trimmer, asphalt tamper, lawn mower, etc.).
• Performs street maintenance and repair; fills potholes with cold patch; prepares road base; rebuilds curbs and storm water inlets with concrete.
• Loads and unloads materials from truck; moves office furniture and supplies.
• Trims and removes trees and vegetation.
• Clears debris from storm sewer inlets; removes debris from road shoulder.
• Paints Borough buildings, structures, and equipment; paints crosswalk and stop lines on street intersections.
• Washes trucks with water.
• Installs and erects street signs and guard rails.
• Responds to highway emergencies and disperses sand or absorbent materials on spills.
• Performs work zone traffic control duties.
• Installs plow attachment and salt spreader onto dump truck
• Laterally move between various Public Works Divisions.
• Able to respond during all emergencies including inclement weather and natural disasters.
• Flexibility to assist where needed.

• Minimum High School Education or the Equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a Public Works environment preferred.
• Possess a Class B, CDL license w/ Air brake restriction removed.
• Handle tools, vehicle controls, and construction materials continuously; stand; walk; lift and carry up to 80 lbs.; and push and pull up to 40 lbs. frequently.
• Sit, recline, climb, balance, kneel, crawl, and perform fine manipulation occasionally.
• Withstand exposure to weather continuously; withstand exposure to high noise levels, traffic hazards, vibration, and wet conditions (during rainy weather) frequently.
