The Occupational Health (OH) Program Manager is the senior health professional in the company and works as a member of the EHS Center of Excellence (COE).  This manager provides company-wide leadership and expertise in matters of work-related health to ensure regulatory compliance and promote safety and productivity of company employees by developing and implementing strategies, policies, and programs to effectively deliver work-related health services.

The Occupational Health Program Manager serves as the Functional Manager for all the U.S.Occupational Health professionals and on-site medical providers servicing corporate employees.  The OH Manager also serves as the coordinator of the Corporate relationship with the Company’s Corporate Medical Director.

Key Accountabilities:

Develop company-wide strategies for work-related health through collaboration with Business and EHS work groups and other stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with U.S. regulatory agencies and professional standards for occupational health care by developing and implementing corporate standards and programs.
Provide Functional direction for all U.S. work-related health service providers within legal and contractual scope of work and budget.
Provide support for issues dealing with work-related health, worker productivity, health and wellness, including traveler health, medical surveillance, and fitness for duty, complex case management for workers’ compensation claims, Americans Disability Act and Family Medical Leave Act.
Recommend and implement occupational health and emergency response programming and staffing needs to business management. And provide functional leadership to IP health care professionals including licensure and scope of practice monitoring consultation for standard of care issues, and educational and networking opportunities to maintain consistent quality and services of work-related health services.
Appraise management of emerging issues and ensure development of best practices through benchmarking and networking with other fortune 500 companies, corporate occupational health professionals, and external organizations such as ORC and occupational health nursing organizations.

Scope:
  • Supports all businesses and employees.
  • Provides work-related health consulting to Legal Department and Human Resources.
  • Actively support EHS professionals.
  • Serves as corporate medical consultant.
  • Manages relationship with external Corporate Medical Director who oversees all corporate medical issues and concerns.
  • Supports workers’ compensation case management for all complicated or complex injuries.
  • International travelers’ health and fitness for duty.
  • Compliance with all U.S. regulatory agencies governing health and medical services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Certification in Occupational Health Nursing.
  • Masters in occupational health nursing or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of effective corporate occupational and management experience in a multi-site occupational health setting. Global manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Must have current unrestricted nursing license to practice in Tennessee.
  • Strong and effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated competence to work effectively with minimum supervision and with all levels of management.
  • Strong written, presentation, and computer skills.
  • Competencies critical include Action Oriented, Customer Focus, Integrity and Trust, Interpersonal Savvy, Problem Solving, Organizational Agility.
  • Requires 30% travel primarily U.S. domestic with possible International travel.
  • Must have the unrestricted right to work for any employer in the US.
