Head of Clinical Strategy

  • Full-time

Company Description

👉 We’re facing an unprecedented mental health crisis. Suicide claims more lives than war, murder, and natural disasters combined. And it’s getting worse, not better. Most people are trying to solve this problem by increasing access to mental health care. While access to care is important, it’s meaningless if care itself is ineffective. The reality is that today’s standard of care is only effective 15% of the time, which leads to endless (and sometimes fatal) trial-and-error treatment for millions of people.

✅ At Blueprint, we’re creating a new system of care where each patient benefits from all those that came before them. Our software platform arms therapists with data-driven insights to help them run more effective sessions and save time on documentation. With Blueprint, patients have a better chance at better mental health care.

🚀 We're ready to scale. Today, we work with thousands of therapists who have enrolled hundreds of thousands of their patients. We're now looking to take what we've learned and use it to help bring our platform to the masses to make measurement-based mental health care the new normal.

Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced clinical leader to build and lead a clinical team at Blueprint that is responsible for the overall strategy, development, and execution of our clinical product and operations, ensuring that all aspects of Blueprint meet the highest standards of clinical efficacy, innovation, safety, and ethical standards. This team will work cross-functionally to support sales, marketing, product, and customer success initiatives and share responsibility over company goals and milestones.

As an early-stage startup ($14M raised to date) we're looking for someone who has the experience to help set the strategy but is also excited about operating with a small scrappy team, rolling up their sleeves, wearing multiple hats, and prioritizing ruthlessly as there are never enough resources or hours to accomplish all of the things.

Clinical Strategy at Blueprint consists of four key pillars that you will oversee in this role:

1. Community & Growth

  • Provide clinical credibility and build awareness of Blueprint amongst clinicians, payors, and other stakeholders
  • Join sales calls and serve as a leading voice and subject-matter expert on clinical quality, measurement-based care, and implementation science
  • Build community amongst clinicians via social media, conferences, events, and more
  • Partner with our sales and marketing teams to add clinical perspective and voice to help produce high-quality content and enablement materials

2. Clinical Support & Implementation

  • Oversee the clinical training aspect of implementations, striving to drive true behavior change amongst clinicians and drive adoption of measurement-based care
  • Work directly with our clinical customers to collaborate on setting up the right protocols, rules, and defaults in our platform for their population(s)
  • Oversee clinical support requests and case consultations

3. Research & Data Science

  • Publish research and case studies that highlight our platform’s overall impact on clinical outcomes, care efficiency, and cost to support partnerships with Big Groups, Payors, Health Systems, etc
  • Partner with academic institutions to add clinical credibility to our AI-enabled features
  • Further develop the Blueprint Quality Index (BQI), our initial foray into establishing an outcomes-based quality benchmarking tool within behavioral healthcare.

4. Product

  • Provide clinical perspective to our product, engineering, and design teams to help shape our product roadmap and ensure we're building a great product that empowers clinicians to do their best work
  • Oversee the development and quality assurance of Blueprint’s core clinical content modules: (i) Assessments; (ii) Worksheets; (iii) Interventions.
  • Identify, maintain, and validate opportunities to leverage our dataset and machine learning/AI to further inform clinical recommendations + decision-support in the spirit of building a new system of mental health care where each patient benefits from all those that came before them.

  • Unlimited PTO & sick days. Everyone needs time to recharge, whether that’s relaxing on a beach or binging a new (or old) TV show on your couch, so we offer unlimited PTO and sick days for you to use when you need them.
  • Quarterly Offsites. Once a quarter, we get together as a team (usually at our Chicago HQ) to regroup, recharge, and rethink in-person. The week consists of lots of whiteboarding, brainstorming, and hanging out! We get a lot done during these weeks, but we also like to have some fun. 😜
